Coronation Street legend shares emotional goodbye hug with co-star as he quits

Chris Gascoyne, Georgia Taylor’s co-star on Coronation Street, has departed the soap after 23 years.

A picture of Georgia, who portrays Toyah Battersby, and Chris—likely Peter Barlow—at their parting celebration was shared on social media. The two can be seen embracing passionately in the picture.

The caption of the photo featured the letters “PB,” Chris’s soap persona. She added, “We’re not crying, we swear,” under the heart emoji.

For many years, the two actors have intermittently collaborated. They became closer to each other a few years ago when they portrayed Toyah and Peter, two characters who began dating.

After 23 years as Peter in the ITV soap opera, Chris has decided to leave the show, as fans are well aware. Soapsnews is aware that he is departing Weatherfield’s cobblestone streets in search of fresh opportunities and responsibilities.

Boxing Day is when his last scenes will premiere. Chris was recently sighted filming Peter’s farewell on location.

Fans will be aware that Peter has been questioned by the police after the murder of Todd Boyce’s character, Stephen Reid, whom he killed in an automobile accident while attempting to rescue Sally Ann Matthews’ character, Jenny Connor.

Peter was then informed that he is safe despite this.

The precise manner of his departure is still unknown, since Corrie has been silent on events leading up to the holidays.

Chris commented of his leaving, “All I will say is I am delighted with my exit storyline.” “The scripts are excellent, and I’m excited to see how people react when Peter crosses the street.”
