Coronation Street spoilers: Sally and Tim’s afternoon delight destroyed by maggots

In recent scenes on Coronation Street, Sally Metcalfe and Gail Platt (Sally Dynevor and Helen Worth) had quite the shock when they opened what they thought was a tin holding a cheesecake.

They were shocked to see dozens of maggots wriggling about inside Sally’s beloved baking pan. Sick.

In their fright, the two ran into the street and screamed “house down.” Luckily, Max Turner (Paddy Bever) and Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) came to their aid and cleaned the fridge.

Upon Tim Metcalfe’s (Joe Duttine) subsequent return home, he encountered Sally’s fury and promptly defended his tackle.

Sally congratulated Tim for discovering a new passion for fishing when the first shock subsided.

According to Tim, it allowed him to enjoy beer while lounging in the great outdoors—what could be better?

Sally was thrilled for him, but she also asked that he cease storing his tackle in the refrigerator. Tim was eager to follow this rule since he knew where his tackle should go better.

Yuck.

The air becoming all humid again, Sally and Tim sprang to their feet, probably heading for the bedroom, only to be surprised by a swarm of maggots landing on the sofa.

Sally quickly insisted that Tim go outside and take off his clothes, but not for the same reasons as previously, after he explained that he had placed them in his pocket to warm them up after their stay in the refrigerator.

We’re relieved that her statement that she “had a good mind to make him stand in the garden while she hosed him down” was omitted from the film.

Sally and Tim’s beautiful day had come to an end when, happily, Tim hurried upstairs to the shower to make sure his maggots hadn’t wriggled anyplace dangerous.
