As winter draws to an end on the cobbles of 2023, things will get hot on Coronation Street as passions are rising there.
Over the next few months, two groups of characters will be thrust into intense relationships; showrunner Iain MacLeod promises that they are compelling and that one of them is “sexy.”
Heart rates will spike when Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) reappears. Tina O’Brien plays Sarah Platt.
Her brief romance with the bad boy was full of passion, and it’s evident right away that Damon wants to win Sarah back when he returns to the cobblestones and ignores Adam Barlow’s (Sam Robertson) threats.
And it won’t take long for these wishes to be granted.
According to Corrie’s producer, “Damon has been somewhere away from Coronation Street plotting his revenge.”
After that, the narrative takes on the characteristics of a love triangle, with Damon—we assume—having been yearning for Sarah during the interim.
“He returns with a kind of two-pronged plan, and I felt like there was really intense feeling between those two, but also really natural chemistry and connection.”
He has two goals in mind: the first is to exact revenge on Adam, and the second is to win Sarah back because he believes she is the one. In essence, he will have to deal with the possibility that these two plans won’t work out.
He went on, praising the intense drama that would ensue and saying, “It’s a brilliant, exciting, high octane story.”There are many exciting turns and twists in the plot. It’s also pretty sexy, dare I say that in this day and age. It seems to have a great deal of passion and intensity.
As things settle down, Damon’s desire for vengeance might begin to lag behind his feelings for Sarah. But just in case you thought that everything would go smoothly from there, Adam can’t stand the thought that this man is back and that he might have designs on Sarah, who is still his wife at this point.
They may wish to get rid of Damon. As a result, Adams is moving in that direction and making plans to get rid of Damon while Damon settles down.
Aside from this ferocious trio, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), and Ryan Prescott (Ryan Connor) already form a complicated love triangle.
Iain affirmed that Daniel will soon become suspicious and find out, which will send him down a perilous and dark path.
He disclosed, “It all comes crashing down, there’s some fantastic scenes concerning the end of that relationship, some major questions Daisy has about whether Ryan is the better option if Daniel isn’t available.” Is that really what I want, or would I pick him just because he’s the default setting at this point?
“And Ryan is obviously quite vulnerable right now and could get his heart crushed if he’s not careful in the middle of that.”
Not difficult enough? There is even more mayhem when Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), who is making a comeback, is included.
Iain hinted that because of their romantic feelings for Daniel, Bethany and Daisy would definitely clash.
“All these unresolved feelings are going to be buried deep into next year, but like all good buried feelings, they all come back to the surface with a bang or two over the next twelve months,” he disclosed.
Daisy instantly turns against Bethany. It’s a really heavyweight tussle between these two women, which I really look forward to seeing more of. Bethany may have once seemed like a younger woman or a girl, but she’s much more of a woman now, more on Daisy’s level.
