In Wednesday’s (November 8) Coronation Street episode, Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) became extremely worried for Joseph Brown (William Flanagan).
The young man said he wasn’t feeling well and decided to skip school that day. With Chesney (Sam Aston) leaving for work, Gemma was left to take care of the quads and a sick Joseph.
Joseph lay on the couch complaining of a headache and fatigue, but Gemma’s suggestion to head to A&E raised doubts in Joseph’s mind.
Gemma didn’t listen to Joseph when he told her that his symptoms most definitely didn’t call for an A&E visit.
After Joseph gave her an update on his feelings that evening, she went online.
Gemma and Chesney carried on discussing Joseph’s day off during dinner.
Chesney noted that kids frequently lie to get out of having to go to school, which made it difficult for him to understand why Gemma was so concerned.
Gemma, who was furious, promised to back off and let Chesney handle it, but is Joseph genuinely having problems?
Another possibility is that Gemma’s anxieties are related to Paul Ash’s (Peter Ash) MND, which was discovered after a relatively minor hand injury.
Does Gemma think that Joseph’s seemingly benign symptoms might be a sign of something more serious?
