In future scenes on Coronation Street, Abi Webster (Sally Carman) raises eyebrows when she is shown giving drug dealer Dean Turnbull (Anthony Crank) a bundle of cash.
Dean, as fans will know, is a face from recovered addict Abi’s past, with the popular mechanic having previously purchased narcotics of him when she relapsed, but is this what’s occurring in these new filming pictures?
Cast and crew members of the ITV soap were seen on-location filming the scenes in question, with Abi and Dean actors Sally Carman and Anthony Crank playing out the heated encounter.
Abi is thrilled to see Dean as she delivers him a roll of money in return for a brown parcel.
Is everything, however, as it seems?
Dean was initially introduced nearly two years ago when Abi was dealing with her addiction and, during terrifying scenes, she stole a vehicle from Kevin Webster’s (Michael Le Vell) garage while on drugs, with she and Dean driving away from the cobbles.
It was at this time that Abi learned she was pregnant, with Dean exhibiting his true colours as he rushed off and left her abandoned by the side of a road.
Dream later reappeared and had yet another battle with Abi, who collapsed and hit her head.
The heroin dealer mounted yet another reappearance earlier this year, when he began to bother Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney), who owed him money.
Cassie insisted that he go, stating that she didn’t have the money, but he instructed her to deliver it to him by the end of the day.
In a desperate attempt to locate the money, Cassie broke into the garage’s petty cash bucket, but an embittered Abi caught her.
Abi questioned the truth and Cassie argued that she was clean and hence Abi came up with a way to aid her.
When the two of them met with Dean, he was ready to take his money and go. But Abi had other plans. She threatened to give the police his identity if he persisted in bugging Cassie for the money.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
