Coronation Street star Kym Marsh shares emotional update after dad’s incurable cancer diagnosis

An poignant update on her dad’s cancer fight was provided by former Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh.

In an attempt to get others to be examined, the 47-year-old Michelle Connor actress disclosed on BBC’s Morning Live in 2021 that her father Dave had been diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer.

Using Instagram Stories, the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant gave her fans an update and posted a photo of herself in a hospital waiting room.

“Another scan for dad,” she wrote. Always near the hospital these days,’ accompanied with an emoticon of a dejected face.

Since her dad’s diagnosis, Kym has kept her followers informed on his condition on a daily basis.

Recounting Dave’s story to co-host Gethin Jones on Morning Live earlier this month, Kym said they wanted to inspire others to be checked out. She also disclosed that Dave had put off seeing a doctor because of the Covid epidemic.

“Unfortunately, there are more cancer deposits further up his spine according to the results of his most recent scan,” Kym tearfully said.

“They are doing additional scans to see if it has spread to any more of his bones, but they are unable to provide chemotherapy at this time. As a result, they recommended that we go spend as much time as possible with him and create as many memories as possible.” That’s what we have been doing, then.

They continued by displaying a photo of Dave and Kym at a Halloween gathering with Kym’s mother Pauline.

She went on, “He’s just loving spending time with his family.”

“He never stops grinning,” Gethin said.

The actress recently surprised Dave with a new tattoo that she had gotten as a dedication to him, demonstrating how close they are.

Kym shared a video of his response on social media and spoke about how Dave’s love of ice cream inspired her to get an ice cream tattoo.

I just got a fresh tattoo for my dad. He’s been infatuated with ice cream ever since he was told he had terminal cancer! He eats one almost every day!

‘So I got an ice cream on the inside of my fore arm for him to remind me of my wonderful dad, Every time I look at it!! He’s the best ever! Love you dad,’ she wrote in the caption of the post.
