Coronation Street spoilers: Dying Paul makes touching gesture so Billy knows he’ll always love him

After receiving the heartbreaking news that he only has six to twelve months to live on Coronation Street, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) is determined to make the most of his remaining time.

Earlier this year, Paul was diagnosed with motor neurone illness in emotionally charged moments.

After getting struck by the Underworld van, he first believed he had hurt his hand, but he quickly discovered that his lack of mobility was caused by MND.

His health has worsened since then, and he now needs a wheelchair to move about. Paul’s situation is only going to become worse since he will ultimately become non-verbal.

In the episode that aired today, November 15, Paul and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) went to see a speech-language pathologist, who gave them instructions on how to utilize devices to mimic Paul’s voice.

This would enable him to continue speaking in the event that, as his MND worsens, he becomes mute.

The expert handed Paul a book during the meeting and said that they would record him reading the whole text aloud so they could have a complete voice bank of him.

Furthermore, she said that Paul would have the ability to record some of his own words and phrases, which he would be able to play back in the event that he loses his ability to talk.

As the truth of their predicament struck in, Billy soon lost it, despite their best efforts to be upbeat.

Billy proposed that they try recording some of the things the expert had mentioned when they got home, but Paul kissed him and claimed he was too busy “living life to the full.”

Billy and Paul read the book they were given and then thought back on their rekindled enthusiasm for one other’s sex after spending a beautiful day together on the sofa.

In order to always be able to tell Billy that he loves him, even when he is unable to talk, Paul took out his phone as soon as Billy told him he loved him and recorded himself playing it again.
