Although Elle Mulvaney’s character Amy Barlow has made it her duty to save innocent women from predatory males, she has gone too far in certain recent moments on Coronation Street.
Upon opting to return home to finish her degree essay, Amy happened to run across Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne), who was strolling about without his trainers on.
Dylan rejected Amy’s suggestion that he confront the individual who stole them, saying that some people will always be victims.
Amy was moved by this and decided she didn’t want to become a victim, so she went to the club.
She saw Dan spike a drink very immediately after arriving, and he gave it to an inebriated lady.
Amy was adamant about getting involved and took the drink out of the woman’s hand before pulling her to the restrooms to dry off.
Although the lady first didn’t believe Amy, Amy told her what she had observed Dan doing while they were there.
The lady was relieved that Amy had intervened after she told her about her experience with rape and quickly left for home.
However, Amy was still determined to get her own back and wasn’t satisfied with just telling the lady to shut up. Amy introduced herself to Dan and started her plan as soon as she left.
Dan quickly went to the bar to get some drinks, and while there, he drugged Amy’s.
But Amy was shrewd enough to know when to turn the glasses around while Dan wasn’t looking. Dan was soon sipping from the glass that had been tainted, and the effects of the drugs quickly became apparent.
Amy phoned Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) for assistance while Dan was staggering around the club, and he quickly showed up to take them up.
But when Aadi got lost looking for Dan’s home, they found themselves in an industrial area, which is where Amy carried out the second phase of her plan.
She informed Aadi that Dan had been drugging women and should have been held accountable after dragging him out of the vehicle.
Aadi attempted to convince Amy that this was a bad idea, pointing out that she was obviously having a breakdown, while she tied Dan up and was ready to abandon him on the side of the road.
Fortunately, Amy was quickly persuaded to accompany Dan to the hospital, where it was determined that he had overdosed.
Collectively, they concocted a tale in which Dan had mistakenly taken Amy’s drink after it had been poisoned, and they had promptly taken him to the hospital upon realising this.
Aadi gave this account when DS Swain arrived to interview them, but it was obvious that the suspicious DS Swain didn’t buy it.
DS Swain told Amy that unless there was something she wasn’t telling her, she had no proof that Dan was a rapist and that he should be detained right now. Amy claimed that Dan was a rapist.
Bringing up the fact that Amy had been involved in a crime twice in as many days, she advised the two to hold out hope that Dan would be able to verify their account when he awoke.
When Dan returns, will he dump them in it, and what would this imply for them both?
