EastEnders legend ‘annoyed’ at soap exit as BBC bosses ‘weren’t respectful’

Emmerdale star Louise Jameson has opened up about her surprising axe from EastEnders back in the 80s and the actress slammed telly bosses for the “disrespectful” exit

A star of EastEnders expressed their frustration on social media after being fired from the long-running soap by BBC executives.

Louise Jameson has gained recognition in recent years for her Emmerdale character Mary Goskirk. But she was a regular on Albert Square before she signed on to the ITV serial opera.

The soap diva may have traded in her Queen Vic for a Woolpack, but it doesn’t seem like she left Walford as smoothly as she had intended. The 72-year-old expressed her frustration at being fired from the programme in an interview with Inside Soap.

“I was irritated by the manner it was announced,” the woman said. Only the night before it was reported in the press did I find out. I had hoped they would let me know beforehand so I could notify my family. It lacked decorum.

After playing Rose Di Marco in Albert Square for two years, Louise quit the BBC serial opera. Louise, a member of the Italian Di Marco family, first appeared on screen in 1998.

The eight-member family, which also comprised Beppe’s infant son Joe, Teresa, Gianni, Beppe’s parents Bruno and Luisa, and daughter-in-law Rosa and her children, was nicknamed the “family that would rival the Mitchells.”

The family owned Guiseppe’s, an Italian restaurant, and was headed by the grandmother Rosa. Actors Michael Greco, Marc Bannerman, Leila Birch, and Carly Hillman reached new heights as a result of the character’s constant conflict.

The soap diva, who played Rhona’s mother in the Dales, has left a lasting effect on fans since her time on the square. Devoted viewers of the programme will be aware that her persona has advanced much since her first arrival in the community.

When the beloved TV character Mary came out as a lesbian, her raw narrative captivated audiences. The Sun previously disclosed that the former star of Doctor Who received a contract renewal for Emmerdale.

As a result, viewers will continue to watch Mary on television far into the new year. “I just signed for another year,” Louise stated, referring to her new contract with the ITV serial opera.

“Therefore, I will remain there until January 2024.” I’m envisioning a three- or four-year stay that may occur a few years after that.

It happened after Lisa Riley’s admission of her covert second job on the ITV set. The 47-year-old actress has been a part of the soap opera since 2001, but her character on the programme is not limited to that.

Lisa remarked that when her other cast members are having a hard time, they flock to her for guidance and support. She’s also the greatest Emmerdale actor to chat to about loss since, having lost both of her parents, the actress is well-versed in coping mechanisms.
