Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden confirm split after five years of marriage

Following five years of marriage, Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden have announced their separation.

The three children of the couple, who met on the Emmerdale set, are Buster, 12, Bowie, 6, and Ace, 3. The couple started dating in 2007.

In an attempt to show a unified front, they confirmed the breakup with a joint Instagram message.

In contrast, Matthew, 43, uploaded an almost similar essay using Charley, 35, as his name instead of his own.

Their actions on social media first led followers to believe that they could have called it quits.

The Sun claims that Matthew, who just departed Emmerdale after playing David Metcalfe for eighteen years, unfollowed his wife on Instagram and then followed her again. For more over a year, he hasn’t posted about her or left comments on any of her most current photos; Charley’s grid has similarly been devoid of Matthew-related content.

“Charley and Matthew were in very different places in their lives when they first got together,” a source told the newspaper.

“Now that they have three children and are juggling new careers, everything has changed and maybe they are not the same unit they once were.”

Charley said he was neglecting life last week. The former Debbie Dingle actress sent a mysterious statement on her Instagram Story that said, “Ignoring life and all the jobs I need to do.” I’d also want to have additional piercings.

After a short breakup in 2013, Matthew proposed on Christmas Day of that year. The pair finally married on February 10, 2018, but their guests were taken aback by the surprise wedding.

At Ripley Castle, close to Harrogate, they were joined by one hundred people who mistakenly believed they were attending Charley’s 30th birthday celebration—instead, they were being married.

To be honest, I’m not a great fan of marriage. In 2019, Charley said on This Morning, “It’s not that important to me.”

However, this seemed like a sensible method to go about it as it relieved the burden of all the questions people would otherwise ask me, such “What’s your clothing like? “Who will be your bridesmaid?” was a question I didn’t want to hear.

“There is also too much attention.” It just seemed like a lot of focus.

In recent years, both performers have quit their positions on Emmerdale. Currently, Matthew is reprising his role as Buddy the Elf in the musical, which is based on the Will Ferrell-starring 2003 picture.

Charley, who left Emmerdale, went on to get a part in The Long Shadow, an ITV police thriller that dramatises the five-year pursuit for serial murderer Peter Sutcliffe, often referred to as the Yorkshire Ripper.
