The relationship between Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) has long been kept a shameful secret in Emmerdale. After Victoria almost killed him by offering him food containing nuts, which triggered his allergy, Jacob began to show affections for her.
Although it was undoubtedly an accident, Jacob’s near-death experience had given him a fresh perspective, and Victoria soon recognised that she had the same feelings for him. They ultimately gave in to their desire, even though at first they fought their love for one another.
However, they have to keep things a secret since they know that David (Matthew Wolfenden), who still harbours affections for Victoria, would be devastated to learn the truth.
It didn’t take long for Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) and the others to figure out that Jacob had a new girlfriend, and they’ve been urging him to speak about her.
In a forthcoming episode, there is a lot of speculation about that subject, which makes Jacob and Victoria uneasy since it’s David’s birthday and they don’t want him to find out the truth.
David puts an end to the rumours, thinking that Jacob is cautious about getting a new girlfriend out of respect for his previous girlfriend Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger), who passed away at the hands of Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu). Everyone else believes that the secret girlfriend is most likely Gabby (Rosie Bentham).
After deciding to spend some alone time in the vacant house, Jacob and Victoria quickly get alarmed when David returns home without warning.
David says he’s going to meet Jacob’s mysterious girlfriend as he knows that Jacob has company in the home. Jacob, in a panic, admits to his father that he was correct—Gabby is his mysterious lover!
After David leaves, Jacob reassures Victoria that Gabby will follow the lie and cover for him. However, this is immediately put to the test when David discovers Gabby in the Woolpack and can’t help but tease her about her new relationship with Jacob.
As Jacob expects, Gabby will comply, but may David find out that his ex-stepson has been lying to him?
