Coronation Street has welcomed a former Emmerdale star for a new storyline centred on the Winter/Brown family.

Currently, Gillian Jephcott portrays Caitlin, a social worker. She arrived last week, not long after Joseph (William Flanagan) was admitted to the hospital.

With the news that she needed to question Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) about whether or not she intentionally poisoned Joseph, Caitlin cut short the family’s early Christmas celebration.

Though Gemma might be a good parent, Caitlin explained she needed to follow a procedure, so a horrified Gemma made her way to Paul (Peter Ash) and Billy’s (Daniel Brocklebank) flat.

Caitlin went on to say that Gemma cannot remain at home during the investigation and cannot leave her kids unattended.

For a few days, Gemma obeys and respects the rules, but in later episodes, when Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) is sentenced to prison, her feelings will be put to the test.

When Joseph gets home, Gemma finds him some painkillers because he claims to have a headache.

Gemma is shocked to see Caitlin when the door knocks; she is not impressed with what is happening.

Fans of Emmerdale and Coronation Street have already recognised actress Gillian Jephcott, even though she has only made a few appearances thus far.

Playing Faith Dingle in Emmerdale from 2000 to 2004 is Gillian’s most well-known role.

Then, in 2017, Faith made a comeback to the village, but this time, Sally Dexter played her.

After that, Sally played the part until October 2022, when Faith Dingle’s cancer returned and she passed away in Cain’s (Jeff Hordley) arms.
