In upcoming episodes of Emmerdale, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) will use more and more desperate methods to get his son back, which makes Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) fearful of what he might become.
Everyone assumed that Mackenzie and Chloe would co-parent their son Reuben in a polite manner after he informed her that he was leaving her and returning to Charity (Emma Atkins).
This understated the extent of Chloe’s resentment for the way she had been treated, and before long, she was preparing to leave with her son for France and making the promise that Mackenzie would never see him again.
Mackenzie has already exhausted many nights trying in vain to find Chloe and Reuben. He puts pressure on Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson), Chloe’s sister, and Matty (Ash Palmisciano) to let him know where she’s gone because he’s pretty sure they know.
After a while, Matty begins to feel bad for him and informs him that Chloe and Reuben are safe and not too far away. He and Amy actually have plans to go see them the next day.
Mack isn’t satisfied to just know that Reuben is secure. He wants to see him, so he hops in the car with Charity and drives off after Matty and Amy, who realise what’s going on when they see them at some traffic lights.
Once more, Amy declines to tell Mackenzie where her sister is, so he takes her phone and texts Chloe, who is assuming Amy’s identity, asking her to meet him at a park nearby.
As Chloe prepares Reuben for his meeting with Amy and Matty, she is excited. She has been lonely while running and is eager to see her sister once more.
She realises that the message must be from Mackenzie and that she is about to fall victim to a trap when something in “Amy’s” message seems off.
She reiterates in a text to Mackenzie that he won’t see his son ever again.
Mack’s despair turns to rage as he realises that he was so close to meeting Reuben only to have the opportunity stolen from him.
