Eric is left shocked by Rodney’s response to his news.
In upcoming Emmerdale scenes, Eric Pollard will be struck in disbelief by Rodney Blackstock’s callous reaction to his Parkinson’s diagnosis.
After receiving his Parkinson’s diagnosis last month, Eric went through some heartbreaking moments where he rejected the thought of getting help from his loved ones and was initially determined to deal with the illness alone.
In scenes that will premiere next week, Eric is urged to confide in his friend because he is having trouble accepting his neurological condition.
Eric is unable to attend the Parkinson’s Support Group meeting because of his ongoing difficulties. Later, when the truth of his condition starts to set in, he is caught off guard by an unanticipated earthquake.
Manpreet advises Eric to tell Rodney about his diagnosis after he previously turned down her offer of assistance, urging him to rely on his friends for support.
Considering Manpreet’s advice, Eric gets ready to make a big move by informing his friend about his ailment.
Rodney, though, doesn’t appear to care about his friend’s health. Rodney’s indifferent response to Eric’s life-altering diagnosis astounds him and makes him feel alone once more.
But why does Rodney seem to be so unconcerned about his friend?
Chris Chittell talked on his character’s most recent plot after Eric was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, saying he felt “privileged” to bring attention to the illness on film.
“Parkinson’s is ruthlessly cruel, dishonest, and indiscriminate toward a great number of people. Regarding the plot, he stated, “I want to do this storyline justice for the bravest people who are having to bear the brunt of this condition.”
