Soap star’s cause of death ruled as suicide

Billy Miller, 43, committed suicide, according to the ruling.

Miller would have turned 44 this September, but his manager confirmed that the General Hospital soap star passed away.

According to a statement provided to Variety, “the actor was struggling with manic depression when he died.”

Radar Online was able to obtain Miller’s autopsy report, which stated that the actor was discovered in his bathtub “with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.”

Additionally, “a revolver chambered for 410 shotgun shells” and “multiple letters indicating suicidal intent” were discovered by first responders in “the descendant’s right hand.”

Patricia Miller, Miller’s mother, released a statement after learning of his death in which she expressed her appreciation for the fans’ outpouring of love and sorrow over his loss.

“I would like to express my gratitude to all of my fans and close friends for their unwavering love, prayers, and condolences sent to my family and me following the tragic loss of my beautiful son BJ — Billy Miller.”

She went on to The Soap Opera Digest, saying, “He battled bipolar depression for years, a long, hard, valiant battle.” He exerted every effort to manage the illness.

He gave up his life because the illness ultimately won the battle, even though he loved his friends, family, and fans.

Miller was well-known for his portrayal of Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless in addition to his role as Drew Cain on ABC’s General Hospital.

Among his other credits are four episodes of CSI: NY, All My Children, Ringer, and Suits, in which Meghan Markle starred. In these episodes, he portrayed Marcus Spectre.

2010 and 2013 saw him win the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Dramatic Series. Miller won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series award in 2014 for playing the same character on The Young and the Restless.

Miller’s sister Megan and mother Patricia both survive him.
