WORRIED SICK Eric Pollard struggles to cope as his Parkinsons’ symptoms begin to show in Emmerdale

As the longtime villager deals with his first symptoms, he is on the verge of losing it all and going into a downward spiral.

Mandy Dingle was informed by ERIC Pollard that he was afraid because he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

Even though he’s determined to keep it a secret, the beloved character from Emmerdale is about to face significant challenges as his symptoms start to manifest.

In recent scenes that aired on ITV, soap opera legend Chris Chittell was thrust into a brand-new, intense plotline when his character was given a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis.

Fans were left speechless when Eric Pollard revealed to Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) in a heart-wrenching moment that he was afraid of what lay ahead for him because the illness was about to take control.

Eric was terrified, but he also insisted on hiding his illness from his loved ones.

But ultimately, he was forced to tell her everything after pushing his partner Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) away and keeping her in the dark.

Afterwards, he made the decision to reveal more to his grandson Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), and in a more recent episode of the Yorkshire-set show, he at last told his son David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) the truth.

Will Pollard be able to get over his reluctance to ask for help when he is unable to attend the Parkinson’s Support Group meeting next week?

This is yet to be determined, but later on, he feels a sudden tremor that catches him off guard.

Manpreet Sharma, the village physician (Rebecca Sarker), feels compelled to urge Pollard to discuss his diagnosis with his friend Rodney Blackstock (Patrick Mower).

When he does, though, Rodney’s casual response to his devastating and transformative news confounds Pollard.

Could this encourage Pollard to request additional assistance after he insisted on managing his neurological condition on his own?

Chris Chittell, an Emmerdale actor, stated of the plot, “I feel really privileged to be given this storyline.”

“Parkinson’s is indiscriminate, deceptive and wickedly unkind targeting so many.”

“I want to do this storyline justice for the most courageous of people who are having to bear the brunt of this condition.”

But how will Pollard be able to handle being sick?
