Gemma Atkinson sends candid message amid Gorka Marquez absence as fans left ‘crying’

She appeared to be counting down the days until her Strictly Come Dancing star fiancee Gorka Marquez returned home

Gemma Atkinson is renowned for maintaining authenticity on social media, and her most recent post seemed to be marking the days before her fiancé Gorka Marquez came home.

After introducing her newborn boy into the world with her Strictly Come Dancing husband, the Hits Radio personality will be celebrating her first holiday season as a mother of two this year. The pair, who first connected during the 2017 BBC One dancing competition, had a son, Thiago Thomas Marquez, back in July.

Gemma, 39, and Gorka, 33, made the announcement in January of their intention to grow their family following the birth of their first child, Mia, at the beginning of July 2019. Since then, they have been adjusting to their new life as a family of four, or six if you include their cherished canines, Norman and Ollie.

However, Gorka’s Strictly obligations have required him to spend time away from home; these obligations stop after next Saturday’s grand final (December 16). Additionally, it seems from Gemma’s posts on Instagram that she is dealing with a specific issue with their little kid, Tio for short.

She informed her fans and followers that Gemma and Tio had experienced many sleepless nights together as they had reached the “five-month sleep regression” and teething. Then Gemma posted a photo of her nursing her four-month-old boy, with Mia sitting next her.

The former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale actress said, grinning for the image, “Knackered but we keep rolling! Also, Papa returns in eleven days. In a subsequent video, Gemma stated she was asked “how she copes” by someone, to which she recorded a video of herself using her machine to make coffee.

“We just do [get through it],” she said. We must. There isn’t an alternative. All we need to do is proceed. Go for it. I believe it doesn’t stop either. Now that her children are older, my sister finds it difficult to get a good night’s sleep since she worries about them being out late!

“She stayed asleep every time they went into town. “You just need to ride the wild wind,” as the legendary Freddie Mercury once stated.” Alongside the video, Gemma also wrote frank remarks such, “We’re basically all well and truly f****d,” followed by an emoticon of laughter.

Gemma, meanwhile, moved supporters to tears when she posted a video on social media to announce her most recent partnership. “I’m thrilled to be teaming up this winter with the wonderful charity @dogsforgood_uk and @morethan to help raise funds for families with autism,” the Bury-born radio and TV personality said with a video of herself explaining everything. A dog may have an amazing effect on a family.

“Their devotion, empathy, and company are more beneficial than we may ever know. When we band together with our four-legged pals, we can help families in need. Up to a total of £45,000, @morethan will match contributions made to the @dogsforgood_uk winter appeal until December 31, 2023. When we work together with our four-legged companions, we can significantly improve the lives of families. I’m grateful.

And her supporters and admirers answered right away. “Oh Gem, this has made me cry,” remarked @mikydodd. What a wonderful campaign that is really personal to me.” @littleplaytownheywood said: “What an amazing nonprofit. Love it. Dogs are incredible in a lot of ways.” “I adore how much you love fur babies,” @helenpraise145 said. They deserve our affection and attention since they play such a big role in our lives.”
