Emmerdale confirms Belle Dingle’s Christmas proposal plot

She pops the question with help from Torvill and Dean.

Belle Dingle will be the character who pops the question in the Christmas episodes of Emmerdale, the show has officially confirmed.

After spending days organising the ideal holiday proposal, Belle gives her boyfriend Tom King a huge surprise.

Belle plans to pop the question to Tom in the run-up to Christmas, but she is let down when she keeps hitting roadblocks.

Belle is inspired to give the proposal another shot by Chas just as she is beginning to lose hope.

Sam pulls Belle away for a surprise birthday party, causing yet another unwelcome disruption as Belle weighs her options.

Then Belle turns to Leyla Cavanagh, a local wedding planner, for assistance in coming up with a fresh concept.

In scenes that premiered soon after Christmas, Leyla guides Tom onto an ice rink while he is blindfolded.

When Leyla takes off the blindfold to reveal that Belle has planned a proposal with the assistance of ice dancing greats Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, Tom is astounded by what he sees.

Tom responds in the affirmative, thrilled by the gesture and a huge fan of Torvill and Dean. When his heroes skate over to say hello, he enjoys getting to meet them.

The Emmerdale cameos of Dancing on Ice stars Torvill and Dean were revealed last month, though at the time it was unclear which character would pop the question.

Christopher Dean said, “It’s incredible to be here. From watching Emmerdale on TV, to being in a scene, we have suddenly changed. the scene from the screen. I adore it.

“I can’t wait to watch the episode that we are going to be in,” stated Jayne Torvill. Watching it at home will seem strange.”

Producer Laura Shaw of Emmerdale continued, saying, “We are thrilled to have Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill as our very special guests on Emmerdale. Without a doubt, Torvill and Dean promise to infuse the programme with a touch of holiday magic.”

When a distressing flashback showed Tom pushing Belle to the ground earlier this year, Belle and Tom’s relationship took a turn for the worse.

Even though Belle was bleeding from her head injury, she chose not to tell her friends or family about it after Tom expressed regret.

Fans theorised at the time that this might be the beginning of a significant issue-based plot.

In the past, Laura Shaw declared: “Tom and Belle will move on in their relationship. Though I believe we’ve already given a slight indication that there might be more going on, what we’ll see is them strengthening their bond.

“Wedding bells arrive on Valentine’s Day, naturally, since we produce soap operas, which means we have to perform weddings on that day. Will it be their happily ever after, though? We shall see.
