The actress Sair Khan, who plays Alya Nazir on the television show Corrie, revealed her pregnancy in a heartfelt Instagram post.

On social media, the 35-year-old actress—who plays Alya Nazir on the soap opera—broke the news while flaunting her growing baby belly. When she posed with her partner Nathan Chilton, the 35-year-old celebrity said that she was experiencing “a real mix of emotions.” In 2018, the soap opera actress, who previously made an appearance on I’m A Celebrity, wrote: “Hey… I haven’t posted on this site in a short while, and I’ve been feeling a range of emotions.
It didn’t seem appropriate to discuss with everyone what was going on in the world, but we also know that it’s OK to maintain hope and offer prayers for peace while simultaneously admitting our blessings and gratitude. We had a difficult year together because of Nathan’s pelvic chondroblastoma surgery last year.
“The tumour has moved to his lungs, so we still have a long way to go before we can fully recuperate. Even though there will always be obstacles in life, there are valuable lessons to be learned and treasured gifts to be received.
“We’re so excited for the arrival of Baby Chilton in Spring 2024,” Sair concluded her message. She posted two pictures of herself posing with Nathan along with her announcement. The soap opera star was seen on the cover holding her growing baby bump and grinning up into her partner’s face while sporting a grey outfit.
Wearing a woollen cap, black trousers and a puffy winter coat, Nathan was placing a tender touch on Sair’s growing belly and gazing tenderly into her eyes. In a another photo, Sair was posing with a dazzling smile as Nathan grinned and gave the camera a thumbs up. The pair appeared to be thrilled about their news.
Friends and social media followers greeted the news with a wall of congratulations; among them was Kym Marsh, a co-star on Coronation Street. “Oh this is beautiful news,” commented the 47-year-old singer and actress, who portrayed Michelle Connor on the venerable serial opera from 2006 until 2019. I’m sending my love to you both.”
“So happy for you,” commented legendary Corrie actress Sally Dyvener, who has been Sally Metcalfe on the show since 1986. Your parenting will be exceptional. Many congratulations.” The actress who plays Bethany Platt, Lucy Fallon, exclaimed, “I’m so delighted for you both, Sair. eager for the infant besties to get together.”
The statement was also met with reaction from television host Evie Pickerill, who wrote: “The best news, Sair. I’m really pleased for you two,” I said, adding a series of red heart emoticons. Greg Rutherford, a sports celebrity and father of two, wrote: “Huge congratulations to all of you! This is really thrilling.
Fans of Coronation Street might have noticed that Sair has been appearing in less episodes lately; this is likely because her bosses have been assisting her in concealing her pregnancy. Her most recent appearance on the cobbles was on December 11th, when she was spotted there wearing loose-fitting apparel. Sair’s pregnancy in real life is not mentioned in the narrative of her character.
Alya will return to television screens for the soap opera’s Christmas episodes. The following is revealed in advance descriptions of upcoming holiday specials: “At No. 3, Ed feels even worse when he opens the watch that reads, ‘For the World’s Best Dad. Our Hero,’ while he watches guiltily as the family opens the few paltry presents they were able to salvage. Alya makes a call to everyone, inviting them to Christmas lunch at Speed Daal with her family.”
Another episode teaser for later in the week states: “Eliza puts in her earbuds and doesn’t interact with anyone in the café. Given how angry she was when Dom didn’t show up for Christmas, Yasmeen and Alya are concerned for her. Stu is miserable. Telling Dom that Eliza is very angry and that he believes he made a mistake, Stu calls and leaves a message for him.”
September 2021 saw Sair and Nathan make their romance public, less than a year after the celebrity revealed she had been looking for love while under lockdown. “I definitely dipped my toe into the dating world in some way shape or form during lockdown,” she said to Fabulous magazine.
“I am self-sufficient and content with my life, career, and relationships with family and friends. Having said that, I’d love the addition of someone new, so feel free to send me a direct message! But I’m not going after it!
Nathan, a chiropractor, had a benign tumour removed from his pelvis last year, which required hospitalisation. He talked about his condition on social media and was transparent about his recovery and therapy.
“Second physio session of the day,” he commented after his operation in January 2022. I was able to use a zimmer frame to help me get off the commode, sit up on the edge of the bed, and take three steps.” In her letter, Sair expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support, saying, “I’m so proud of him for being so open and vulnerable in the hopes that others won’t feel so alone.”
When his social media fans gave him encouraging notes while he was having surgery, Nathan appreciated them. “I appreciate all of the love and support I received,” he added. You are all very loved and appreciated. For those now experiencing their own struggles. Hope is something you should never give up. You must locate your own tiny “window of hope.” You are aware if you are.”
