Emmerdale spoilers: Kim Tate dealt devastating blow from Sam Dingle

Kim Tate (Claire King) from Emmerdale is used to being composed, cold, and in charge; in fact, her image as something of an ice queen is well-earned.

Of course, there’s more to her than that. Kim has also been known to let her hair down, as seen by her hen do, which served as a reminder of her love for Neil Diamond.

Kim also has a very giving and caring side, which is often shown by her relationship with Karen Blick’s Lydia Dingle.

Lydia is Kim’s cleaner who lives hand to mouth with Sam (James Hooton) and the rest of the family in their dilapidated home; Kim is the “lady of the manor” at Home Farm, the most prominent house in the community.

However, this seldom interferes with the sincere warmth that permeates the relationship between the two ladies, who enjoy one of the most enduring and sincere friendships on the programme.

After Lydia was sexually assaulted by Craig Reed (Ben Addis), Kim was among the first people Lydia went to; Kim saw her friend’s significant problems before many others did. Lydia accepted Kim’s invitation to stay at Home Farm when she needed time to gather her thoughts and be away from her family.

Lydia is now residing with her mother since she was unable to stay in the community after learning that the individuals she trusted the most had followed Craig against her desires.

Later, while Kim was out on her horse, she saw Craig stagger across one of her fields after Sam beat him up and left him for dead. The horse sprang up as Craig begged her for assistance and reached for it; the animal’s foot hit Craig in the head, killing him.

Kim recently admitted to Lydia that, while she knew Craig was already dead, she had been riding the horse at the time of the event and had left him in the field to be discovered later.

Kim wanted to speak to Sam on Monday’s (December 18) episode because she was anxious to hear about Lydia. She volunteered to speak with Lydia as she was disappointed to learn that she wouldn’t be returning for Christmas.

Sam informed Kim that she didn’t want to talk to her.

Sam said that Kim was simply worried about whether Lydia would tell the authorities what actually happened to Craig. However, Kim stated that she was worried for her buddy.

She argued, “She’s my friend.”

Sam gave a scathing response. He informed her, “She doesn’t feel the same way about you.” “Not one more,”
