Coronation Street Christmas spoilers: Danger for Ed as he makes a deal with the devil that is Damon

Trevor Michael Georges’ character Ed Bailey finds himself in serious difficulty on Coronation Street during the holidays after his gambling spoils his family’s Christmas. However, things will get worse when he strikes a pact with the villainous Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) in the new year.

Before Christmas, Ed, who was having financial difficulties, pawned the family’s gifts and claimed they had been taken in a break-in.

When his family finds out, it doesn’t take long, and to say they’re upset and disappointed would be an understatement.

Michael (Ryan Russell) demands that Ed vacate Glory’s (Eleanor Beckles) Wendy house right away since he finds it hard to believe that Ed would genuinely pawn it.

When Ed confides in Todd (Gareth Pierce) that his family despises him but they still don’t know the worst, it appears that they don’t realise the full magnitude of the situation he’s in.

In the days that follow, Ed informs Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) that paying off his debt comes first, and he will have to give up the builders’ yard if necessary. In an effort to change his ways, he also pledges to frequently attend his gambling support groups.

He is happy to accept Damon Hay’s offer of work refurbishing a pub because he is in financial need and it may spare him from having to sell the builders’ yard. Ed finds this to be a very alluring offer.

Dee-Dee urges Ed to stay away from Damon because, of course, she is fully aware of him and his character.

Of course, Dee-Dee is exactly right. As viewers will witness when he kidnaps and threatens Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), Damon is an extremely dangerous man.

“Damon, who has returned unannounced, has put Adam in this terrifying situation,” Corrie executive Iain MacLeod recently told Metro.co.uk. “And in our thoughts, has been planning his retaliation from somewhere away from Coronation Street.”

Adam’s marriage to Sarah (Tina O’Brien) was destroyed by Damon’s prior affair, which led to Adam taking drastic measures against Damon, who is now returning to settle the score.

It is obvious that Ed should not be interacting in any way at all with this individual.
