A sinister secret is going to be revealed, and unexpected guests on EastEnders are ready to upend George Knight’s (Colin Salmon) world.

To the dismay of his fiancée Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), George is also seen running to his ex-wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) for solace on New Year’s Day.

Cindy is desperate to win over George and their children Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna (Molly Rainford), who vanished from their life nine years ago. It’s been a difficult time for Queen Vic landlady Elaine lately.

There will be even more drama at the Queen Vic when two new faces arrive.

George’s parents, Eddie and Gloria Knight, arrive on New Year’s Day. Elaine is taken aback by her fiancé’s response to them.

She had just heard Cindy ask George if he’s “happy with his life choices” when they arrive.

Elaine is unaware, but Cindy is aware, that George was adopted, therefore Eddie and Gloria are not his biological relatives.

To Cindy’s joy, George chooses her when he needs someone to talk to about his anxieties after their visit.

To Elaine’s dismay, Cindy has been putting a lot of effort into her relationship with George lately. She has even kissed him. On Christmas Day, the two even take a journey down memory lane.

Planning While under witness protection, Cindy remarried George under the name Rose, and most of Albert Square believed she had passed away giving birth in 1998.

Cindy, who was imprisoned for trying to have her husband Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) killed and for trying to flee the country with their children, had actually become an informant on her cellmate, who subsequently passed away. She had therefore been granted a new life.

And in the most epic of twists, she had recently reconciled with Ian after having affairs with his half-brother David Wicks (Michael French) and barman Simon Wicks (Nick Berry), as well as hiring a hitman to kill him.

As far as the enamoured Ian is concerned, love is obviously blind.

He even fell for her web of lies recently when she was seen kissing George.

Now that Gloria has revealed a startling fact to George, Cindy is quick to support him while he keeps cutting Elaine off.

After spending the night on the sofa, he soon slips off to see Cindy, and they decide to try to learn more about his adoption.

He asks Gloria to dinner in a desperate attempt to get answers, but will she be able to tell George everything he needs to know?

Will he ever reveal Gloria’s startling secret to Elaine, and what is it?

Could Cindy and George’s romance be reignited by events?
