At the beginning of Emmerdale on Thursday, December 21, things were not looking well for Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb). It seemed that he had gone days without eating or drinking since he was still strapped to a chair at an abandoned workplace.
In response to his request for water, Harry (Robert Beck) almost choked him by jamming a water bottle in his mouth. Harry took out a large stick and instructed Mack to forget about Reuben, which made the situation much worse. Mack promised not to.
“You will, for sure,” Harry said.
Meanwhile, Chloe (Jessie Elland) had switched on her phone and received a message from Charity (Emma Atkins), who had not seen Mack for days and was distraught at receiving an odd message from him the day before.
Harry had to tell Chloe where Mack was as soon as he came home. “Have you injured him?” she questioned. “Is he gone?”
Harry then brought his daughter to see it for herself, and what she saw startled her. Mackenzie was unconscious, slumped against the chains holding him to the chair, blood pooling around his eye from where Harry had struck him.
Chloe knew her dad intended to murder Mack, even though Harry had a piece of paper that was supposed to be a deed giving Reuben all of Mack’s rights, saving him life.
After that, Harry answered a call and had to go for a meeting, but he gave Chloe his large stick.
We witnessed the side of her that surfaced before to the vehicle collision, when she was determined to get vengeance on Mackenzie and Charity after learning they had slept together before Reuben’s baptism, even if she may not have been prepared to use violence against Mackenzie.
Now that the automobile was going to fall over a cliff and Mack had gone for Charity out of instinct rather than her, she had an even deeper grievance and informed him how she felt.
Now that she was furious, Chloe was portraying herself as her father’s daughter and referred to Mack as “the scummy cheat that left me to die.” She stated he’d believed he might have a happy family with Charity and her son if he’d let her fall.
Refusing to accept this, Mackenzie made a valiant attempt to talk sense into her mind. She was asked to consider Reuben and what she would tell him when his father passed away years later. Although he had committed some horrible things, he informed her, he didn’t deserve to die.
Mackenzie understood that his only chance was with Chloe. Even if Chloe is furious, she is not the kind of person who could have his murder on her conscience. Harry would kill him without a second thought.
Let me leave, he pleaded with her, hoping at least that. Because if you don’t get out alive, I won’t.
