Emmerdale teases change for Aaron Dingle

He supports Dawn through her contractions.

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Aaron Dingle’s recent misbehaviour has prompted Emmerdale to hint at a shift in his character.

Earlier this week, Aaron’s mother Chas Dingle rejected him for cruelly taunting Ethan Anderson during a date at the Woolpack.

Since coming back to the hamlet, he has often been angry with his family, harassing his brother-in-law Vinny Dingle and making fun of Chas.

On the other hand, Aaron has sometimes shown indications of kindness, and this Thursday’s (December 21) programme allowed viewers to see him at his most vulnerable.

The focus of the episode was on the Dales’ inhabitants getting together for the Christmas fair, including Dawn Taylor despite the fact that she was almost ready to give birth.

When Dawn went into labour, Aaron just so happened to be seated next to her. Dawn was feeling contractions and didn’t want to go home just yet, so she begged Aaron to hold her hand.

Billy was perplexed when he saw Aaron clutching his wife’s hand and wondered what was wrong.

“What are your thoughts? “I’m into women now,” jokingly said Aaron.

Aaron had pledged to break the good news to vicar Charles Anderson and see to Clemmie’s needs when Dawn was finally ready to return home for her water birth.

Dawn thanked Aaron with gratitude and left for Home Farm. Evan was a healthy baby boy who Dawn had delivered before the conclusion of the episode.

In the meanwhile, Aaron’s involvement in a significant new plot for his mother Chas Dingle in Thursday’s episode may provide hope for Aaron’s atonement in the next year.

Weeknights at 7.30 p.m., ITV1 and ITVX stream Emmerdale.
