Ed Bailey of Coronation Street has resorted to extreme means to try to pay off the enormous amount of debt he has accrued over the last several weeks.
Trevor Michael Georges’ character Ed Bailey on Coronation Street appears to be in danger after his family finds out he has resorted to gambling. According to official ITV soap opera spoilers, he’s desperate to try and get some money to make up for his losses.
letting Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), his daughter, know that paying off his debt mountain is his first concern, even if it means losing the builders’ yard. Nevertheless, when a job chance presents itself, his luck changes.
After a lengthy hiatus, soap villain Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths) returns to the cobbles and tells Ed about a job refurbishing a pub. Ed feels enticed by the offer since he knows it can provide him with the money he really needs.
Before the builder’s yard is sold, Damon says he will be able to pay for the renovations by taking his money out of the Bistro. Dee-Dee isn’t exactly thrilled about her father’s newfound opportunity, though.
Because she knows how dangerous Damon can be and what he can do, she advises Ed not to do business with him. But will Ed, in his desperation for the money, make a bargain with Satan?
Fans of the ITV soap opera have witnessed Ed revert to his former behaviours in the last few months following his partnership with Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan).
Ed got himself into trouble after he gambled away £1,000 of his son’s money and borrowed some money from friend Tony (Sean Cernow).
Viewers will witness Tony take action over the holiday season to retrieve his money since Ed is unable to pay him back.
He chooses to accept the Baileys’ Christmas gifts in return for the money he owes after barging in and punching Ed.
He pretends to the family that they have been broken into, but ultimately the truth is revealed.
The family was forced to relocate to Weatherfield when they lost their house, and it doesn’t take long for there to be a joyful fallout due to Ed’s previous addiction.
But since she’s not in Weatherfield, his wife Aggie Bailey (Lorna Laidlaw) is ignorant of the familial drama that has been going on.
When she learns that her husband has returned to his gambling habits and is becoming engaged with a criminal, how will she respond?
Soon after, Damon reverts to his previous behaviour, deciding to abduct Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) as retaliation for driving him out of town.
Speaking about the scenes, Iain MacLeod, the head of Coronation Street, told Metro.co.uk: “Adam finds himself in this terrifying situation.”
“All at the hands of Damon, who has returned unannounced and, in our perception, has been somewhere other than Coronation Street, hatching his retaliation.”
