Emmerdale looks set for explosive scenes on Christmas Day as a first look spoiler clip from ITV teases tension and bombshells in the iconic Yorkshire village this festive season

Emmerdale has released a first look glimpse at its Christmas Day episode, where tension and bombshells are teased in the Yorkshire village.

The beginning of the spoiler footage opens with a happy view of the village around the holidays, with Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas playing over the speakers. But before long, tensions are raised when Marlon Dingle is seen outside seeming irritated when wife Rhona Goskirk’s ex-husband Gus is visiting.

The next scene has Chas Dingle outside with his ex-partner Paddy Kirk, their daughter Eve, and Mandy Dingle. Aaron Dingle, Chas’s son, arrives in the hamlet in a cab, and the two engage in a chilly argument as they continue their continuing fight. The next scene in the video shows Tracy Metcalfe getting ready for Christmas with her family when she gets a text from Caleb Milligan, her secret boyfriend, stating, “Can’t wait to see you later.”

But when Tracy’s husband, Nate Robinson, puts his arms around her and plants a kiss on her, she quickly feels horrible. The moments that follow show Tracy and Caleb’s affair unravelling. Christmas at Butlers is in full swing during the joyous episode, and it doesn’t take long for Caleb and Tracy to have a passionate alone time. Tracy is freshly married to Nate, Caleb’s uncle, but they have just lately started a shocking relationship.

Tracy remains behind to watch over the children after everyone has departed in the next scenes. Caleb and Tracy get the alone time they’ve been craving when they offer to stay behind with her. But soon long, someone discovers Tracy and Caleb are having an affair. Who is it, and will Tracy’s marriage collapse as a result?

In another scene, Marlon and Gus hit a breaking point, and Marlon storms out. Fans of the soap opera will remember that earlier this year, Gus visited the town and asked former Rhona for assistance. He told her about his new relationship and his desire to have a family with Lucy, his new partner, but they were unable to do so.

He said that since she was the other parent of the embryo, he required her consent to utilise the embryos they had frozen when they were together. Rhona was shocked since she thought the embryos had been destroyed. Before meeting Lucy, she had considered allowing them to utilise the embryos, but she later had second thoughts.

But last month, Rhona learned that Lucy was significantly pregnant and that Gus had utilised their embryos without getting Rhona’s permission—he had even stolen her passport to falsify paperwork and seem as though Rhona had given her agreement.

When Rhona informed the couple that Lucy had gone into labour early, things took an even more disastrous turn. It was later discovered at the hospital that Ivy, the newborn girl, was in critical condition and that Lucy had passed away during the delivery owing to difficulties. Mary Goskirk, Rhona’s mother, recently let Gus and Ivy to live with them since the bereaved new father was having trouble on his own.

But on Christmas Day, Marlon has trouble adjusting to his new houseguests. They only manage to salvage Christmas when Marlon’s closest buddy Paddy tells him that Gus is in mourning. Later, Marlon whips up an amazing supper that leaves Gus speechless. With a tearful glass to family and friends, Christmas is back on track.

Also, Emmerdale will continue to air the fallout to Mack Boyd being held hostage by Chloe’s dad, Damon, who also goes by the name Harry, after he attempted to escape on Friday’s episode.
