Emmerdale star Roxy Shahidi has teased a potential new romance for her character Leyla Harding on the hit ITV soap following the latter’s split from Liam Cavanagh
The actress of Emmerdale, Roxy Shahidi, has said that after Leyla Harding broke up with Liam Cavanagh, she wants her to find “another real love.”
Viewers of the soap opera will remember that Leyla and Liam divorced in 2022, having barely tied the knot in 2021. Following the terrible loss of Liam’s daughter Leanna, who was killed by Meena Jutla, the soap couple had a turbulent period in their relationship. Meena then found herself shooting Leyla; she was apprehended and given a 75-year jail term.
Following the incident, Leyla suffered and turned to drugs as a coping mechanism, which strained her marriage. Leyla has changed her life and become sober after her marriage ended. Leyla had a brief affair with Caleb Milligan earlier this year. But Leyla hasn’t been dating anybody since her split from Liam and Caleb affair.
“I personally think there’s one relationship that should have lasted and I personally think they should revisit,” Leyla actor Roxy said to Mirror and other reporters while discussing the future of her character. I have no idea who that is. It’s funny since I recently took the Emmerdale tour, which involves showing everyone around the village and doing a little Q&A. After working with four groups, I heard the same thing every time: “Oh, she should be with.” I said, “I know!”
“You know what I mean? I don’t want her to be happy happy because that’s boring. I like the curves and twists. However, I do believe that after the doctor, she needs another true love. The way everything transpired was depressing.They were so fun for so long and they got on so well.
“I believe that amongst all of the misery, they offered a lot of entertaining comedic moments. After then, it become quite thick and gloomy. Thus, I believe that there should be some enjoyment, but not too much because then there wouldn’t be a tale.”
The actor Roxy from Leyla revealed more about her co-star Matthew Wolfenden’s heartbreaking 17-year ITV soap opera departure. Following grief, the community said goodbye to Matthew’s 43-year-old character David Metcalfe last month as he departed the Dales for a fresh start in London.
