EastEnders finally reveals Christmas killer and who is dead in massive twist

EastEnders has finally put us out of our misery by revealing that Keanu Taylor died on Christmas Day and that Linda Carter was the one who carried out the killings, ending months of rumours and fan theories abound.

Our mouths are still agape.

Since the serial drama on BBC One broke from precedent in February and aired a terrifying flashforward sequence confirming the death of an unidentified male resident, fans of the soap opera have been riveted to their TVs.

The body was laying on the Queen Vic floor, and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) were all standing over him, looking shocked.

Viewers were shocked to learn that the character was dead when Sharon, dressed in a wedding gown, checked his pulse. They immediately started to speculate about who might have died and which of the six women—now known as The Six—would have been responsible.

Throughout the next few months, each matriarch has faced off against a minimum of one male character. Eventually, EastEnders eliminated Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), and Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) as the only remaining contenders.

And at last, we know who it is—after months of anticipation.

With Sharon and Keanu’s wedding serving as the backdrop for everything, the Christmas Day episode of the serial turned out to be just as exciting as we had anticipated.

Keanu was ecstatic to be getting married to the love of his life, but Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) turned out to be the downfall of his plans when she chose to tell Phil everything about her brother’s involvement in Albie’s kidnapping after he had asked her to the wedding without permission.

Enraged, Phil raced over to the church and told the shocked Sharon what had happened. Sharon slapped Keanu so hard that she drew blood in retaliation. The question of whose blood was on her dress in the flashforward scenario is resolved by the fact that the blood in question ended up on her dress.

While Keanu trailed Sharon to the vestry and begged her to give him another chance, Sharon revelled in shattering Keanu’s world by revealing that Albie is actually Phil’s son!

Phil overheard the announcement and was shocked, while Keanu was still inconsolable. Linda grabbed Sharon’s hand and escorted her out of the church, hoping to save her from all the drama.

After he destroyed her cafe and almost killed her grandchildren, Kathy found it difficult to sit in church with Rocky. As a result, she made the decision to go back to the Vic with Linda and Sharon, followed closely behind by a displeased Denise who was tired of Jack’s behaviour.

In another scene, Ravi and Nish made their way back to the Square after being taken into custody on suspicion of killing Eve Unwin (Heather Peace).

Ravi was met with patriarch Nish’s wrath, who accused him of betraying him by not killing Eve when he had the opportunity. To prevent Suki from leaving, he tried to talk her into coming to the house by using Vinny (Shiv Jalota).

Suki found herself confined. The matriarch, unable to sit at the table any longer, tried to flee, but Nish cornered her and gave her the command to cease “disobeying” him.

In the end, Ravi saved the day by capturing Nish long enough for Suki to manage her escape into the Square and meet up with Stacey, who escorted her to the Vic for safety.

At last, the Six were together.

Kathy and Denise were in the Vic, stewing about their own husband-related difficulties, while Sharon bemoaned her past relationships with men.

While this was going on, Suki told her fellow ladies about how Nish was dominating her. In some really strong sequences, she even came out and revealed that she was seeing Eve, to the backing of her female friends.

Drinking too much, Linda went to her bedroom to take comfort from a bottle of vodka, not realising that Dean, who had earlier gained admission to the tavern, was waiting outside.

As the women defended Suki, Nish was enticed to the Vic. Denise threw a bottle over Nish’s head, knocking him to the ground as he attacked Suki.

Keanu dashed in, desperate to reach Albie. He choked Sharon when she got in his path, and Linda had no choice but to knife him to death.

Suki discovered that while Keanu was undoubtedly dead, Nish was still alive.
