Since his motor neurone illness has been becoming worse over the past few months, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) on Coronation Street is expected to grow even more eager to carry out his plot to commit suicide.
Paul made the decision to take charge of his own death a few months ago, and he requested his loved ones to assist him in passing away when the time came.
The untimely death of his friend Shelly, who also had MND and passed away in her flat by herself, served as motivation for his decision.
Paul decided to end his life before losing control over his body because he wanted to be able to decide when he would depart.
Unfortunately, Paul thinks that day is drawing near, and when it does, he begs Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), who is frightened, for assistance once more.
Paul admits that it’s a lot to ask of someone, but he says that he is afraid of becoming a captive within his own body when Todd refuses.
Todd, who is sympathetic to Paul’s plight, drives him to the operation, where Paul pretends that his agony is much greater than it actually is in the hopes that more morphine would be ordered.
Todd is tense, but as soon as Dr. Gaddas rejects the prescription, he feels a wave of relaxation.
Paul is upset about the appointment in the Rovers, and Abi Webster (Sally Carman) quickly listens and shows sympathy after learning of his annoyance at not receiving the morphine.
Todd is shocked when Abi shows up at the flat later at Paul’s request, but it quickly becomes apparent why she is there.
When Paul asks Abi to get him some drugs, there’s shock, but what will be her reaction?
