The following month on EastEnders, Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) will be dealt a severe blow when she finds out that she has a sister that she was unaware of.

In future scenes, the beloved character is expected to make a triumphant return, travelling from Paris to Walford alongside her cousin Penny (Kitty Castledine), only to run afoul of the police.

She is happy to see Louie again when she returns to the Square after being freed. Thomas Law’s character Peter Beale quickly persuades her to stay longer, and Lauren subsequently follows up with Penny to make sure she’s alright.

Lauren is determined to leave right away and go to Tanya’s (Jo Joyner), but Penny spills the beans that Peter knew her secret and chose not to tell her.

When Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) learns that Lauren has returned to the area, she worries that Lauren will learn that Annie is actually her sister.

Viewers are aware that the landlady is having a tough time after she killed Danny Walters’ character Keanu Taylor in an attempt to save Letitia Dean’s character Sharon Watts.

Like the rest of us, she would want to forget about her affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood), so the last thing she needs are further issues or reminders of it.

When Lauren prepares to depart with Louie, Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) stops her by disclosing that she has another sister in Walford, despite Whitney Dean’s (Shona McGarty) assurances to Linda that she would remain quiet.

When Lauren learns the truth, she becomes enraged and rushes to the Queen Vic, wanting to know why Linda failed to inform her that Annie is her sister.

What remains to be seen is Linda’s exact reaction.

She and Lauren had argued about the matter on prior occasions, with Lauren even having the audacity to claim that Linda had broken Max’s heart.
