After stealing a car that contained Heath (Sebastian Dowling) and Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes), Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) of Emmerdale committed a risky error.
In Friday’s (December 29) episode of the ITV soap opera, it was New Year’s Eve in the hamlet, which brought chances to throw and attend parties.
Heath and Cathy were in the cafe talking about going to a party in Hotten.
The twins wanted to arrange a lift from an adult, but they were at a loss for how to go because cabs were too costly and Bob (Tony Audenshaw) and Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) were too busy planning their own New Year’s celebration at the B&B.
Bored and annoyed, Cathy, Heath, and Angelica were stranded in the B&B.
They then made the decision to leave covertly and pilfer a bottle of alcohol on route.
The group of friends returned to the King home with April (Amelia Flanagan) and spoke about going to the party in town after all.
Being unable to go with an adult, Cathy ended up robbing Wendy (Susan Cookson) of her vehicle keys and getting ready to break the law.
April remained where she was, knowing that she would be in hot water when the gang was eventually discovered, while Heath and Angelica got inside the car.
This left Cathy, who had also had a few drinks, to start the car and head out.
It has the makings of a catastrophe story, but how will this joyride end?
