A few days ago on Emmerdale, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) expressed his distaste for the idea of taking care of baby Ivy.
Though not legally Rhona Goskirk’s (Zoe Henry) daughter, Ivy is her biological daughter. After Rhona’s former lover Gus stole her embryo to enable Lucy, her new partner, to become pregnant, Ivy was born.
Shortly after Ivy was born, Lucy passed away, and because Gus hasn’t been able to handle it, Rhona has found herself lending a hand.
In a letter Rhona got after Christmas, Gus requested her to take care of Ivy while he dealt with Lucy’s passing. Naturally, Rhona granted the request because she was already quite bonded to Ivy. However, Marlon and Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) were concerned about Rhona’s reaction in the event that Gus came back and took Ivy away from her.
Prior to this, Rhona made it clear that while she is aware that it may happen, she would like to spend time with her child while Gus is away.
Marlon is one individual who has undoubtedly been caught in the centre of it all.
Months have passed since the well-liked character was released from the stroke clinic, and naturally, taking care of a baby isn’t his main priority.
However, Marlon has decided to take care of a newborn despite his concerns; in the first episode of Emmerdale this year, Rhona and Marlon were seen talking about what the upcoming weeks could hold in the back room of the bar.
Rhona expressed her deep love for Ivy and acknowledged that their journey ahead would not be simple, but they will succeed.
Marlon went on to say that he would help as much as he could as long as Ivy remained at their house.
However, what will happen to Rhona if Gus comes back?
