Beverley Callard is a beloved character from Coronation Street, best known to viewers as Liz McDonald, the former Rovers landlady. However, it seems like the actress is considering a job on rival soap opera EastEnders.

When Liz from Corrie first touched the screens in 1989, she was instantly adored by the audience.

Until Liz departed Weatherfield and relocated to Spain in 2020, Beverley Callard intermittently played the part.

Nonetheless, it seems that she hasn’t completely ruled out making a comeback to the soap opera industry in response to a fan’s tweet about X programmes.

Beverley expressed her delight for the concept of playing a long-lost Mitchell or Slater in EastEnders, as proposed by Twitter/X user Darren. She seems eager to participate.

The proposal seems to excite other fans as well. AJ proposed that she portray Stephanie, the sister of Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), a character that Beverley thought would be “fabulous.”

Helen, meantime, believed that Eve Unwin (Heather Peace), a fellow northerner, would benefit from having her as a relative.

Other admirers did not take long to bring up Beverley’s previous visit to Albert Square, which occurred in 2010 during a skit for Children in Need.

The casts of Corrie and EastEnders interacted as they discussed the potential of twinning the boroughs of Walford and Weatherfield in the skit named East Street.

While Christian Clarke, Zainabb Masood, Darren Miller, Jodie Gold, and Jane Beale went to Coronation Street, Liz McDonald, Michelle Connor, Dev Alahan, Gail Platt, and Jason Grimshaw appeared in Albert Square.

In a hilarious parody of Kat Slater’s well-known ‘you ain’t my mother’ line, Liz was revealed in the comedy to be Kat Slater’s (Jessie Wallace) long-lost mother.

Could Beverley soon make a brand-new appearance in Walford, or could we be in for another EastEnders and Corrie crossover?
