Emmerdale spoilers: Charity and Mack hit with update on Harry’s death that changes everything

How will their future be impacted? (Picture: ITV)

In order to save her husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) killed criminal Damon “Harry” Harris (Robert Beck) in a horrific incident that marked the end of 2023 in Emmerdale.

Mackenzie had been abducted by Harry, who gagged and restrained him to a chair in an abandoned factory.

When Harry’s daughter Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) begged him for assistance in escaping Mack, who was keen to see his infant son Reuben, he responded in this fashion.

Chloe attempted to release Mack after seeing that Harry was a vicious man and that he intended to kill Mackenzie, but he was soon taken back.

When Chloe arrived in the village to visit Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson), Harry found her and took her back. Charity and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), who knew Harry from when he had abducted her before, noticed the event.

They followed Harry’s vehicle to the factory, where they arrived just in time to witness the thug brandishing a pistol at Mack and seemingly ready to kill him.

Charity sprinted to get the rifle without pausing, and she and Harry engaged in combat. Harry fell to the ground lifeless as the pistol went off.

A huge connection was revealed (Picture: ITV)

Chloe, the lone other witness to this atrocity, promised Charity that she would not report the incident to the authorities as long as Mack bid Reuben adieu and allowed Charity to permanently depart the hamlet, with no more communication between her son and his father.

Charity and Mack consented to this, and after Mack said his young son farewell for the last time, Chloe departed the community.

Mack and Charity were left to continue living in the village when Chloe and Reuben left, but it’s obvious that this has come at a great cost for them both.

The fact that Charity knew she had killed someone has caused her much sorrow. Although she is aware that Harry would have murdered Mack if she hadn’t stepped in, she still feels a great deal of remorse.

Future episodes will reveal to her and Mack that Harry’s death was determined to be an accident.

Mackenzie is overjoyed by this, and Charity tries her hardest to express how she feels, but she’s actually having trouble.

Will she ask for assistance from anyone?
