Following in the family footsteps.
Actress Katie Hill of Emmerdale has advocated for her character Sarah Sugden to find employment elsewhere.
Since 2017, the actress has played Sarah, who, as a member of the Dingle family, has been at the focus of several stories.
Speaking with Inside Soap, Katie mentioned that Sarah had just completed her A Levels. Given this, Katie believes it’s about time the character matured and considered her future and profession, and she has the ideal suggestion in mind.
“It would be good to work in the garage with Cain, because that’s what Debbie, her mum, did for a few years,” Katie stated.
“I’d like to work with Jeff Hordley [who plays Cain] and wear the dungarees; it would be like following in her footsteps.”
“But working in the salon would also be so much fun because Daisy Campbell, who plays Amelia, is one of my best friends.”
Katie stated that she would really want to do something that raises awareness for a real-life issue, like she has done in the past, when asked what her dream plot for Sarah would be.
“It’s always a good opportunity for an actor,” she stated. “It was the story of the cancer and the heart transplant when I first joined.” It was difficult, but Charley Webb, who portrays Debbie, was by my side, which is obviously great.
“I was taking action to raise awareness of the circumstance and the struggles that real-life individuals face. I hope we accomplished it creditably.
