There are spoilers in this article for Monday’s (January 8) episode of EastEnders, which you can view on BBC iPlayer right now even though it hasn’t yet broadcast on television.
In recent EastEnders scenes, the Six were left in a state of panic when workers came to begin construction on the café. Things only got worse when Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) received a call from the hospital.
Viewers will be aware that The Six collaborated to conceal Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) corpse among the ruins of the burned-out café after Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) killed him on Christmas Day.
It seemed to be a safe choice since new owner Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) was in critical care, but the ladies were shortly to find out otherwise when workmen showed up to begin renovations.
After seeing her son Lee, Linda was frightened to see the construction when she returned to Albert Square. Suki and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) quickly got to work investigating.
Suki hurried home to see why they had wanted to begin work so soon after managing to fend off the builders, realizing that son Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) had phoned.
The builders said they wouldn’t be able to postpone the work for more than a few days, but she was quick to return to the café and send them packing.
Now that the builders had left—for the time being—The Six found themselves in yet another crisis meeting.
Suki briefed the surviving members of The Six in Denise Fox’s living room as Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) attempted to assist Linda elsewhere.
Suki’s insistence that the six of them enter the café shocked Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), who confided in Kathy that she was seeing Keanu everywhere already and that she couldn’t bear what he may look like today.
At that moment, a call from the hospital broke up their conversation, letting Suki know that Nish had woken up.
Denise was ecstatic at first, but it quickly became apparent why Suki was plagued with fear.
Denise noted that, as opposed to the two murders they would have been dealing with, they now only had one murder to deal with. However, Suki disclosed that Nish might recall everything, which would mean their whole scheme would fail.
