Michelle Keegan, an actress and former cast member of Coronation Street, has been talking about how leaving the ITV soap opera altered her life, saying it felt like her feeling of security had been “ripped away.”

The most recent edition of The Graham Norton Show (January 5) featured Michelle, who played Tina McIntyre on Corrie, talking about her acting career and her popular Netflix miniseries Fool Me Once.

In 2014, the actor departed from the serial opera after the murder of her character by Rob Donovan, the father of Bobby Carroll, a newbie.

Michelle told Graham about the trip that followed and how the separation made her job much more difficult.

“It was a huge learning platform for me,” she said.

It was very difficult for me to decide to go, so I took a very long time. I too believed I would never work again when they informed me they were killing off my character and there was no turning back. After having my security taken away, I forced myself to work even harder.

In Michelle’s Netflix series Fool Me Once, Maya Stern looks into her husband Joe’s death after he is seen on their home’s nanny video.

In response to the enormous success so far, Michelle said, “It’s crazy that it’s number one all over the world.”

“Yes, absolutely,” I said to the caller, “I was always a huge fan of Harlan Coben books, and I grabbed it with both hands.”

Michelle is also well-known for her roles as Georgie Lane in BBC One’s Our Girl, which chronicles the exploits of army squad 2 Section, and Erin Croft in the Sky series Brassic.

The drama’s first season included soap opera icon Lacey Turner, who portrays Stacey Slater on EastEnders.
