Emmerdale spoilers: Bob Hope crumbles on the day of Heath’s funeral and makes a shocking decision

It is obvious to everyone that Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is struggling in Emmerdale as the day of Heath’s (Sebastian Dowling) burial approaches. No parent should ever have to lose their kid.

In addition to his unbearable sorrow, Bob is struggling with his negative feelings towards his daughter, whom he believes is to blame for Heath’s death. For Wendy’s protection, he tells her that he won’t be seeing Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling).

However, Brenda (Lesley Dunlop), who has previously vowed to be with Cathy no matter what, is prepared to face Bob.

She berates him for forsaking his daughter, who is also mourning the loss of her own twin. Her remarks immobilise Bob because he knows she’s got a point.

He is aware that Brenda is correct, but Cathy’s purported falsehoods regarding who was driving that evening elude him. Cathy has insisted that Angel killed Heath when she drove the vehicle they were joyriding in off the road, but her appeals have gone unanswered since the facts and eyewitnesses contradict her claim.

Bob breaks down at the notion of the day and takes a momentous decision: he informs a shocked Wendy that he will not be attending the burial of his own son. This is due to the falsehoods that Cathy has been telling him. Heath is being crushed by the weight of his death.

Cathy is horrified when Pollard (Chris Chittel) has to deliver this news to her. However, she chooses to go alone since she values her brother more than herself.

As Cathy deals with her loss alone, the whole community gathers to say their last farewell. But Cathy crumbles when she sees Heath’s casket. She has lost both her father and her twin.

Bob shows up at her side right before her eyes. They help one other through it, but later on, Cathy is shocked to learn that Bob still doesn’t think she’s genuine.

Bob is compelled to leave as his emotions take control, and she lashes out at him, screaming that she won’t move home while her father believes she murdered her brother.

Angel, meantime, is at the cemetery and is racked with remorse. Will she eventually tell the truth and save this family from being destroyed?
