Emmerdale star Emma Atkins reveals complicated therapy session in Charity Dingle PTSD story

After unintentionally murdering Damon Harris (Robert Beck) in a recent episode of Emmerdale, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), who has already had a difficult life, has suffered further trauma.

Charity shot Damon while grappling for his rifle in an attempt to rescue Mackenzie Boyd (played by Lawrence Robb).

Ever since that incident, Charity has been very disturbed and is exhibiting signs of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Actress Emma Atkins said, “She’s going to get a lot of PTSD because she’s always reliving the moment.” She is only erecting the barriers. She is living in her own hell as the shutters are about to come down.

It becomes worse because she’s attempting to compartmentalise everything and is shutting it all in. She is just a ticking time bomb since she is unable to handle the situation. She is disoriented.

In subsequent scenes, Charity will snap at her kid Moses because of her PTSD, which prevents her from getting enough sleep and from communicating her genuine thoughts to her husband Mack.

The situation deteriorates further when Charity receives a call from his school later on and finds that he has been fighting with other kids over accusations that his mother is a killer.

She is devastated by the extent to which Damon has impacted both her life and the lives of her children, and she questions how long she can maintain her show of being OK.

Emma indicated that Charity’s prior traumas would eventually resurface as her symptoms intensify.

“It will begin to spiral out of control, with everything rising to the surface and being revisited.” I’ve been made fun of during a therapy session.

Emma continued by saying that Charity is forced to take a seat and assess the situation by one unexpected Emmerdale figure.

She said, “There is one person who supported her in a very unusual way.” “I think that’s a dangerous thing to do because you never know where you’re going to go. I think she becomes quite visceral and horrible to watch, I guess,” the person who urges her to open up says as they sit down. However, this individual won’t give up.

There is a lot to go through given Charity’s extensive history of trauma.

She is horrified by how much Damon has affected her life and her children’s lives, and she wonders how long she can keep up the illusion that everything is OK.

Emma hinted that as Charity’s symptoms worsen, her old traumas might ultimately arise again.

“It will begin to spiral out of control, with everything rising to the surface and being revisited.” In a therapeutic session, I was teased.
