Coronation Street welcomed back a villain to the ITV soap on Tuesday night, as they met up with a former acquaintance ahead of a huge new storyline
On Tuesday, fans of the ITV soap opera Coronation Street saw a familiar face as a significant homecoming for another character.
Shortly after Bethany Platt, Harvey Gaskell, and Damon Hay made their comebacks on the ITV soap opera, a former character made a reappearance as part of a new plot. Just four months after their previous Corrie stint, during which they created turmoil for newbie Cassie Plummer, Abi Franklin reunited with someone from her past.
Actor Anthony Crank’s character Dean Turnbull returned to the screen on Tuesday for fresh sequences. It wasn’t for her that Abi had gotten in touch with her old supplier and the villain.
Paul Foreman resorted to Abi for assistance after shocking Todd Grimshaw with a melancholy plea as he began to decline after being diagnosed with motor neurone illness last year. When Todd declined to assist Paul in taking his own life, Paul contacted Abi instead.
Paul requested Abi to procure some drugs for him since he knew she probably had connections who could get her supplies. She first declined, but as Paul revealed his struggle, she quickly changed her mind.
In the scene, Abi meets Dean, who gives her the narcotics, which she then gives to Paul. Cassie spotted the two in the act, however, and soon Abi’s partner Kevin Webster and Paul’s partner Billy Mayhew found out.
Though it was just hinted that there would be more drama to come, it doesn’t seem like this is the last we will see of Dean. Given that the brothers are at odds, it seems that Dean will be engaged in sequences with the antagonists Harvey and Damon.
The return of violent drug dealer Dean Turnbull is likely to shake the cobbles, according to a source who spoke to The Sun Online. He has previously scared Cassie Plummer and Abi Webster, and he is now returning to his old pranks.
“Fans will see him team up with another returning villain as he’s wrapped up in Damon Hay’s comeback and his war against his brother Harvey.” Bosses have not yet disclosed what the villain is working on or when we might expect to see him again following his most recent stint.
