Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) is the victim of severe bullying by Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), and things on Coronation Street soon take a dark turn as the teenager is compelled to take action in an attempt to save himself from being injured again.
Mason has been bullying little Liam nonstop in a plot that has sometimes been difficult to witness, and he has not yet been held accountable for his terrible actions.
Mason and his friends confronted Liam after he briefly brought up Mason’s actions to Maria (Samia Longchambon) and Gary (Mike North). The whole altercation was captured on camera for an internet movie, during which he was called a rat and had trash thrown over him.
As they approach Liam, Gary and Maria see him off to school, but he quickly turns around and heads back to the apartment.
Liam logs into the school website by himself and reports being sick.
Maria informs Gary at the café that Liam hasn’t been seen by the school in a week.
When Liam attempts to throw a sickie at the end of the week, Maria tells him that he has to attend to school.
Maria discovers that Liam has left his phone behind as the school bus leaves and meets him at the school entrance.
Liam is utterly mortified to be seen with his mum at school and, unbeknownst to them, Mason starts filming.
Later, while the other kids laugh, Mason takes Liam’s phone and makes him plead for it back before refusing to give it back.
Completely embarrassed, Liam rushes off and makes his way to the school’s exit.
But Mason grabs him and pushes him up against a wall.
Liam triggers the fire alarm out of desperation, but when will this horror be over for him?
