Jennie McAlpine, a cast member of Coronation Street, has announced her comeback to the show as Fiz Dobbs.

After learning that she was pregnant, the 39-year-old actress quit the ITV serial opera in scenes that aired in May of last year to take maternity leave.

Actor Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs) and actress Claire Sweeney (Cassie Plummer) posted a family photo from the movie on Instagram, including Jennie.

The photo was captioned “Jen’s back” by Alan. The core of the house No. 9 @ Coronation Street is family.

Claire said, “So good to meet my daughter-in-law today @alanhalsall lovely Jennie McAlpine [heart emoji] Fiz,” using the same photo.

The 39-year-old said that she gave birth in April but chose to wait to announce the news publicly until Monday, August 28. She also revealed the arrival of her baby daughter in a recent interview.

“I’m really conscious of how fleeting this moment is and how important it is,” she said to OK! Magazine upon the birth of her small child. It’s disarray, however. It was already chaotic, but this is beyond crazy!

In an interview with the journal, Jennie said that she and her six-year husband, Chris Farr, had a “big conversation” before deciding on the name Doris.

“I love that Doris goes with Albert and Hilda; it’s a family name,” she said. They’re all extremely ‘Corrie,’ too.

In Jennie’s absence, Corrie temporarily sent Jennie’s character Fiz down to Norfolk and wrote her out of the program.

Fiz accepted an offer from Todd Boyce’s character Stephen Reid to work as an Underworld supervisor.

Fix ended up moving away from her family and losing her work, despite the fact that the compensation had doubled.

But Fiz’s husband Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) was quick to urge her to accept the job, and as a result, Fiz left the cobbles last May.
