In forthcoming moments on Coronation Street, Ryan Russell’s character Michael Bailey is going to be in mortal peril when he becomes trapped inside a burning building.

At the start of the week, Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) is under pressure from Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) to begin paying off the debts he accumulated while battling an addiction to gambling.

To the dismay of brother Michael, who is certain that if Ed returns, he would move out, Dee-Dee offers her dad return home in an attempt to keep the family together.

A knock at the door cuts short Dee-Dee’s pleadings for Ed’s cause, but she is determined to see things righted.

It is evident how much of a mess Ed is in when Dee-Dee and Michael confront the bailiffs who are at their home.

Though he tells Dee-Dee that his friend Marcus has given him a place to stay in, Ed is still optimistic about the future and hopes Gary Windass (Mikey North) will make an offer on the builder’s yard.

Ed is gently let down by Gary when he informs him that he will not be purchasing the yard, and things only become worse when Ed receives a call from Marcus leaving him without a place to stay.

However, Ed covers because Dee-Dee has already assisted him in packing and acknowledged that Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) would appreciate the extra room.

However, word quickly gets out, and soon Michael is told by Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) that Ed is now homeless and Marcus has been in contact.

After an unsuccessful meeting with Gary, the two become more and more concerned when Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) says that Ed seems desperate. Panic ensues as they observe smoke rising from the builder’s yard.

Michael, terrified, races up the stairs to look for his father but is unsuccessful.

He is shocked to see that the fire has spread and is now preventing him from leaving the apartment as he turns to go.

Will anybody be able to get to Michael before he burns alive inside the flaming building?
