Matt Di Angelo’s character Dean Wicks went back to Albert Square with the expectation of seeing more of his daughter Jade Masood (Elizabeth Green) in EastEnders.
But poor Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), who has gone off the waggon and started to spiral after confronting her rapist once again, has only experienced anguish as a result of his reappearance.
Not only does she not want Dean around, but everyone else in the Square has given him a cold reception, with the exception of Gina Knight (Francesca Henry).
Even if Jade doesn’t necessarily feel the same way, Shabnam, his mother, wants him to stay away from them.
Gina persuaded Jade to give Dean a chance on her most recent visit to Albert Square by claiming that he was really trying to be a decent father.
Since then, Jade has had a lung transplant, and Shabnam’s refusal to allow Dean to be there for the surgery saddened him.
But in later scenes, Jade would decide to come be with her dad since she is tired of Shabnam hovering over her.
Although Dean is taken aback by her unexpected visit, he doesn’t challenge her when she explains her motivation.
All too quickly, however, for everything to go awry.
Jade had a bad fall as a result of an incident that Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) starts in the market.
Will she be OK even if Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) and Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) quickly come to her aid?
