Where is Emmerdale filmed? Village location and how to book tour tickets

Since the ITV soap opera Emmerdale has been on screens for almost 50 years, many have asked where it is shot and how to visit the renowned set.

Emmerdale is renowned for both its picturesque backdrop and the drama that takes place inside the little hamlet nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

This year could be the perfect time to visit the set of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale if you are an avid fan. Everything you need to know about the show’s filming location and how to get tickets for the official tour can be found on Express.co.uk.

The earliest scenes for Emmerdale, which debuted in 1972, were shot in the Yorkshire hamlet of Arncliffe. The soap opera’s residence was moved to Esholt, West Yorkshire, three years later.

The locals, however, desired to reclaim their houses by 1998. The Earl and Countess of Harewood own the Harewood House Estate, where a duplicate set was constructed as a solution to the problem.

Although a significant portion of the serial drama is still produced there, Leeds Studios, which is a short drive from the made-up hamlet, is where interior sequences are shot.

How do you book a tour of the Emmerdale set?

You may purchase tickets at www.emmerdalevillagetour.co.uk for the 90-minute guided tour, which includes a surprise cast member meet and greet.

The trip is only offered on weekends, and reservations must be made online in advance.

The adventure starts outside Leeds’ The New Inn Pub, when guests board a coach to be driven to the Harewood Estate.

The Woolpack, David’s Shop, St. Mary’s Church, the village hall, and the recognisable Emmerdale sign will all be visible to visitors. You will have enough opportunity to take pictures and have time to purchase food prior to the bus picking you up.

Does Emmerdale Village take cash payments?

The Emmerdale crew no longer takes cash payments, so if visitors would like to purchase a refreshment during their visit or a bag from David’s Shop, make sure they have a debit or credit card.

“At the Emmerdale Village Tour, there’s a small unit serving hot and cold drinks along with a variety of snacks and light bites,” the website continues.

We also have an amazing gift store where you can peruse our selection of memorabilia, interesting gifts, and Emmerdale goods. Sadly, we are unable to mail any of the gift shop’s merchandise.”
