Emmerdale’s Zoe Henry reveals ‘lovely twist’ for Rhona and Marlon amid life-changing fight

It’s been a difficult few months (Picture: ITV)

while Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) learned that her former husband Gus (Alan McKenna) and his wife Lucy had used an embryo that Gus and Rhona had frozen while they were married, her life in Emmerdale drastically altered.

Shortly after Ivy was born, Lucy passed away, leaving Gus to mourn his wife and find it difficult to raise a child. Rhona, meanwhile, had to accept that there was a baby living nearby who shared her DNA and that she had no legal say over what happened to her.

Because Gus was unable to take care of the infant, Mary (Louise Jameson) invited Gus and Ivy to live with Rhona, Marlon (Mark Charnock), and the rest of the family for the Christmas season. Not long later, he disappeared.

This left Rhona and Marlon to take care of Ivy and develop a relationship with the little child. The link becomes stronger the longer the situation persists. Zoe Henry informed us that Rhona has been rather manipulative in pushing Gus off, despite the fact that he has lately gotten in contact again.

“She has taken advantage of his fears since he has said, “I’ve been seeing a counsellor, and they said I have to be 100% strong.” She informed us.

“Yes, and if you’re not you’ll just set yourself right back again and you have to put Ivy first,” she said. It’s very deceptive. Although it originates from a good place, she is also acting in her own self-interest as she doesn’t want Ivy to go.

At first, Marlon was very opposed to Ivy moving in with them because he thought it would hurt April (Amelia Flanagan), Leo (Harvey Rogerson), and eventually Rhona when the baby had to go back to Gus. As Zoe pointed out, his sentiments have drastically shifted over time.

“It’s a really lovely twist—he’s absolutely fallen head over heels in love with Ivy,” she said.

So have April and Leo. Since they’ve grown into a close-knit small family, this is the worst possible situation. They are getting along nicely, and when a baby gets into a habit, they adjust to it, so everything is going great until Gus rings.

According to the actress, a problem that once had the potential to separate Marlon and Rhona is now bringing them closer.

“I believe he is aware of the extent to which Rhona helped him during his stroke.” He can’t be unaware of it or fail to consider it, she thought to herself. Thus, I believe he understands that he must likely provide for her if he hopes for their marriage to survive. By now, I believe he is also really in love with that small child.

Now that Gus has gotten back in contact, Zoe has informed us about the direction the plot is taking, stating that Rhona “goes all out” to keep Ivy.

I believe that you should always present the issue as it really is. You need to go beyond your own experiences and ask yourself, “What would I do in this situation?” If someone had threatened you by asking, “Well, this isn’t your baby, is it?” Despite the fact that you have cared for it for two months and that it is your biological property due to its DNA, you will never get to see it again. You know, I believe I would definitely do something fairly dramatic in those situation as well.

It is that primordial thing; it is her child.
