Following her release from jail, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) made her long-awaited comeback to Coronation Street in recent scenes.

As one would anticipate, her homecoming was met with chaos as Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) planned a surprise party for her in the Rovers.

It was Dev Alahan’s (Jimmi Harkishin) responsibility to bring her there, and his efforts paid off as she saw her loved ones gathered around.

But it wasn’t all happiness forever, for she soon found out about Linda Hancock’s (Jacqueline Leonard) presence and her attempt to get in touch with a custody lawyer about Joseph and the quads.

Her attitude was severely damaged by this revelation, so she quickly went to meet Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) and confront Linda directly.

She quickly put pressure on Linda upon her arrival, making her defend herself.

Bernie wasn’t persuaded by Linda’s insistence that she had just sought an opinion on the legal aspect of the matter.

Resolved to prevent Linda from meddling in Gemma and the children’s life, she said that she was returning and that Linda would be forced to relocate.

After quickly assuring Chesney that she would reserve a motel for the evening, Linda went upstairs to begin packing.

With Linda gone, Chesney told Bernie he would go and pick up the quads, but she stopped him, insisting that she would do it herself, before urging Chesney to try and save his marriage.

With so much tension within the family, will things ever get back to the way they were?
