Another love triangle plot has been announced for Coronation Street, featuring a pivotal cobblestone couple who are headed for the rocks when a woman has an adulterous affair and cheats on her husband.
You would think Corrie would have enough on her plate with mother and daughter Sarah and Bethany Platt (Tina O’Brien and Lucy Fallon) each entangled in their own intricate romantic webs, but Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) is about to start an affair to find out just how handy a man former footballer Tommy Orpington really is.
Simon Gregson’s Steve McDonald is portrayed by Matt Milburn once again.
It’s wonderful news for Tracy, who needs some interior work, because Tommy is taking up some do-it-yourself projects on the cobbles now that his previous relationship and profession are finished.

gullible Steve is ecstatic to have a sports star in his life, little realising that his marriage may be in jeopardy if his wife Tracy, who attracts trouble, succumbs to the seduction of a passionate affair.
“I think he likes her sparky nature, her quick retorts and her banter is very sharp,” actor Matt said. He enjoys being always alert.
In many respects, she’s not an easy target. They simply appear to have this chemistry that none of them seems to be able to predict.
After making many brief appearances over the years, Matt is thrilled to be returning to the character and has now established a longer-term narrative.
He said, “I was ecstatic and overjoyed because it’s something I’ve wanted for years.”
Since 2016, I’ve played Tommy on and off, so when I heard I would be returning and getting something much more significant, I was thrilled.
Tommy is a well-known football player from the North, which makes him the ideal role for me to portray. I like football. It’s wonderful to be back!
Not so wonderful for our Steve, however, who will find out and his heart will break in two.
It’s unclear if this will be the end of his romance with Tracy, but fans are well aware that she’s not the kind to settle down easily.
Even while Steve hasn’t always been innocent, the rose-colored glasses he wears for Tommy O are keeping him from noticing the warning flags that he has often shown in the past.
Right now, the cobbles are a hive of desire as Bethany dates her ex Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), even though Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) is still in love with him.
However, since she had slept with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), THAT was tainted with – you guessed it – infidelity.
In another scene, Sarah, whose marriage collapsed as a result of adultery, is now courting criminal flame Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths). However, her ex-husband Adam (Sam Robertson) is determined to end this relationship as soon as possible.
In Weatherfield, falling in love is a perilous business.
