Lucy Pargeter shares love and an apology as ‘inspirational’ Emmerdale fans reach out during cancer story

Lucy Pargeter of Emmerdale is continuing her sad storyline with a sweet message to her followers.

In the ITV soap opera Chas Dingle, played by Lucy, just received the diagnosis of triple-negative breast cancer—the same disease that her mother Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) had before passing away in October 2022.

The lump wasn’t discovered until after Chas had slept with Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), who advised her to be checked out just to be sure.

Chas, who had been living in denial and postponing her appointment, finally went to the hospital this week. She was informed that while her diagnosis and her mother’s are same, her treatment plan would change due to the uniqueness of their circumstances.

Fans responded to the distressing moments on social media in a big way, with many complimenting Lucy Pargeter’s acting and sharing personal anecdotes of having cancer.

Lucy tweeted a few days earlier (January 22) with the words, “Thank you…nothing more but ????.”

The actress took to social media again last night to express her regret and affection for her fans. She said that while she has read a lot of personal experiences, she is now “finding it hard” to balance everything.

She wrote: “I just want to start by saying I’m sorry for not getting back to everyone who this story has personally touched. I have read all of your messages, but right now I’m finding it difficult to read, learn lines, and be a mother all at once.” You are amazing.

She continued, saying, “And I’m completely garbage, I apologise, you have the time to tell me about your experience and story, and I’m sending a general “thank you,” never time or space for life’s balance!!!!” However, all of you are the source of inspiration and the cause for this.

Chas will make the decision to inform the Dingle family about her disease in later episodes of the ITV soap opera.

Subsequently, Chas focuses on her daughter Eve, sitting down with Paddy (Dominic Brunt) to kindly inform the little child that she is unwell.

Then, with all the weight of the world on her shoulders, Chas will locate Paddy and inform her that she and Eve are taking a few-week vacation.
