Coronation Street spoilers: Sarah Platt has a big decision to make after Damon Hay’s hint over future

Could it really work? (Picture: ITV)

In Coronation Street, Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) and Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) had a passionate romance in secret at first. But could their union lead to home bliss?

A few weeks earlier, when Damon came back to the cobbles, it was obvious that he was a man on a mission. In actuality, many missions. One was to get vengeance on Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), who had before caused Damon to leave Weatherfield quickly.

The other included his getting back in touch with Sarah, whose marriage to Adam had collapsed in the meantime.

Naturally, Damon has a long history of involvement in a variety of illegal activities, but Ciaran Griffiths assured us that he would clean up his act for Sarah.

He said, “He still has that edge to him, but he does want to try and show Sarah that he can operate within the law.”

In later episodes, he makes a suggestion to Sarah during a passionate moment that he wants to move in with her in an attempt to put the relationship on a more formal basis.

Is Sarah prepared to take such a step? She does indeed have deep emotions for Damon, but given what she knows about him, can she really trust him?

The rest of the family is probably going to be against his moving in, especially brother Nick (Ben Price), who has a history of run-ins with Damon and isn’t sure he can accept his sister living with Harvey Gaskell’s (Will Mellor) brother.

Adam would also object, as he was abducted and made to stand at gunpoint not so long ago at Damon’s command.

Ciaran admitted that issues might arise. He may choose to live on the streets, but the question is whether he will be permitted to do so with Adam on his back and his brother towering above him. I don’t believe Damon will ever have an easy time of things.

“Whether it’s Harvey or Adam, there will always be someone trying to get him.”

However, Damon has to persuade Sarah before he can confront all of that. Will she consent to his relocating?
